Best-known for his role as Harry Potter in the eight part film series, Daniel Radcliffe has gone on to star in films including The Woman in Black, Kill Your Darlings and Victor Frankenstein.

On Who Do You Think You Are? he discovers one ancestor who became a successful Hatton Garden jeweller before meeting a tragic fate, and another who wrote moving letters from the front line of the First World War.
 

1. Child star

Prior to being cast as Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe had roles in films David Copperfield and The Tailor of Panama.
 

2. Broadway boost

In 2011, Daniel won Favourite Actor in a Musical and Favourite Onstage Pair (with John Larroquette) at the Broadway.com Audience Awards for How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
 

3. Paparazzi prankster

For six months while working on a play, Daniel deliberately wore the same thing leaving his theatre to annoy the paparazzi so it would look like the photos were all taken on the same day.
 

4. Published poet

Under the pseudonym Jacob Gershon, Daniel published four poems in the fashion magazine Rubbish.
 

5. Hair extensions

Daniel had to get hair extensions for his role as Igor in the film Victor Frankenstein and struggled with keeping them clean.
